Sheepridge

Sheepridge Road, SheepridgeSheepridge is a district about 1.5 miles north north east of Huddersfield town centre.

Sheepridge has an important place in the village history of Huddersfield but has adopted a new character since the middle of the 20th century with the development of new housing in the area, in particular large estates of social housing. The Riddings estate extended Sheepridge in the direction of Deighton and a large estate at Brackenhall, since largely replaced by modern housing, created a huge extension to the north west of Sheepridge and effectively made Brackenhall a new district of the town.

There have been a number of improvements to the Sheepridge village centre in recent years including new parking areas and refurbishment of shops and other buildings.
