Yorkshire Water finally lifts hosepipe ban December 10, 2025

Winscar Reservoir near the source of the River Don in July 2025Temporary hosepipe restrictions across Yorkshire are at last lifted from Wednesday December 10, 2025 as reservoir levels reach 91.6%.

Groundwater supplies around Hull have also risen and are now at a level of around 77%. Yorkshire Water says that across all sources water levels are above average for this time of year at 85.1% and restrictions can now safely be lifted.

There have now been 14 weeks of sustained increases to reservoir levels, which had dropped to 30.6% at their lowest point. The hosepipe ban was introduced on 11 July following the driest spring in 132 years and a record-breaking warm summer,
